Find out about:

Check Your Print Credit

You can check to see how much print credit you have left by logging into your printing account on the printer.

To do this, tap your student ID card on the card reader at the printer and select 'device functions' it will then show you how much print credit you have left.

Need to top up your print credit? Either call us at: 0208 268 3052 or speak to a member of staff in your Learning Centre.

Cancelling a Print Job

You can cancel a print job by logging into the printer. Then select 'Print Release', this is where you can manage your print jobs.

Click on the print job you would like to cancel and click on the bin icon at the bottom of the screen. This will cancel that print job.

Logging in without your ID Card

If you do not have your ID card when you go to print, you can still use our printers.

Use your college email address for your username, and your usual college password.

Double Sided Printing

If you wish to print something double sided, in your print settings select 'Print on both sides'

Make sure to choose between these two settings:

Flip pages on long edge - use this setting if the document you are printing is portrait (vertical)

Flip pages on short edge - use this print setting if the document you are printing is landscape (horizontal)

Multi-Purpose Tray (MP Tray)

Use the multi-purpose tray to copy or print onto a different paper size or type, from the paper loaded in the printer, for example when printing onto card, acetate, cartridge paper etc.

Once you have selected either KMFP Colour or KMFP Black and White, you can then choose your printer settings.

To do this, select 'Printer Properties' underneath the printer's name.

You will then be able to choose the type of paper you are printing on.

To do this, select 'media type' and in the drop box below, you can choose the correct settings.

Here are the most common settings that students use:

Plain - Plain A4 or A3 paper.

Transparency - use this setting if you are printing onto acetate.

Thick - Card

Once you are happy with your print settings select 'Ok' then print.

When you go to retrieve your printer, select 'Print All'. You will then need to add your paper into the multi-purpose tray.

Place your paper here, make sure if you are printing on A3 you extend the tray out further, so it's recognised.

Inverting Colour

Use the printer to create a negative image of a print job to reverse the background and text. (see example below)

Example of an inverted print job.

Example:

Written Instructions:

To do this, print your document as normal. Then place the printed document in the top to photocopy, make sure it's face up.

Go to 'Device Functions'

Click on 'Colour Selection' and select 'Black and White'.

Important: The default setting will be auto colour, it's important to change this to black and white otherwise you will not be able to use the negative image setting.

At the bottom select 'Advanced Setup', next to 'Layout/Edit'

1)

Printer settings.

Select 'Negative Image' under Advanced Settings.

2)

Select 'On'

Then press the start button to invert the black and white in your image to create a negative copy.
