Meetings in Teams

Updated: Dec 7, 2022

Please make sure you check with your tutor before creating meetings.

You may need to join a class on Teams or set up a meeting with your peers when you are not in college to discuss work.

This post has been created by your Learning Centre to show you how to use meetings in Teams.

Computer:

Creating a Meeting:

To schedule a meeting in Teams on a computer, go to your calendar and select 'New Meeting'

Then fill out the meeting details:

Create the Meeting Invite:

Add in a title for the meeting.

Add in the people who you would like to attend the meeting. Tppe in their name or ID number in this field.

Start by adding in the date for the meeting and enter the time in the next box.

This field is optional. You can choose to type in 'online meeting' or a location, if the meeting is in person.

Type in any additional information that you haven't already specified above.

Once you are happy with these settings, press send. This will then send an invite to the people you asked to attend.

The meeting should then appear in your calendar.

Joining a meeting:

To join a meeting on a computer, go to your calendar. The meeting should appear in your calendar.

Click on the meeting, there will be an option to 'Join'

Select join, and then you will be taken to another window where you can set up your camera and audio settings.

Once you are happy with your camera and audio settings, please select 'Join now' to join the meeting.

Remember, it's good etiquette to have your microphone muted when you are not talking as it can become distracting for others.
